Discover the French Alps: Legendary Cols and Alpine Adventure

The French Alps are where I found my home. It was my first summer in Méribel, in the Three Valleys, that truly changed everything, swapping skis for hiking boots and discovering the beauty of alpine life. It wasn't until I moved to Morzine, two years later, that I discovered my passion for road cycling. I then began a quest to cycle every high mountain col, tackling many of the legendary climbs known to cyclists, starting with Joux Verte and Joux Plan, on my doorstep. There is something incredible when you make it to a mountain summit, the air is cool and fresh and from the top and you look down on quiet villages and the switchback roads you've climbed.

There’s also something special about hiking in the French Alps. Trails wind through forests, across meadows and past mountain streams, with new views opening up at every turn. Some of the best moments come from taking the lesser known paths and seeing where they lead. It’s not just the mountains that make this place special, the villages are unique too with traditional chalets, small shops and a strong sense of community.

No matter where I go, the French Alps call me back. It’s the scent of pine, the mountain air and the mountain peaks, they are more than mountains, they are a home.
