Discover the Italian Alps: Stelvio and Scenic Peaks
The Stelvio Pass is my favourite place in the world, a spot where everything I love about the mountains comes alive. With 48 hairpin bends twisting through the Italian Alps, every corner reveals another incredible view: glaciers, jagged peaks and long valleys. I love staying in Bormio, a pretty town with a fantastic thermal spa, perfect for relaxing after a day of climbing.
Standing at the top of Stelvio at sunrise or sunset is unforgettable, the mountains glowing in golden light. Cycling the hairpins is exhilarating, each bend a mix of challenge and reward. The Gavia Pass has a stunning infinity lake at the summit, which reflects the surrounding peaks. The Mortirolo pass is tough and every turn demands focus but the dramatic alpine scenery makes it worth it.
In summer, skiing on the Stelvio Glacier is the most surreal experience. Skiing across white snow while looking down at green valleys feels like stepping into two worlds at once, pure alpine adventure.
For me, this corner of the Alps is special, every ride, every climb, every mountain summit, leaves me awe struck and always wanting to come back.
